DIY Paperclip Design

Hi!  Since paperclips are too mainstream… a little decor will add enthusiasm to it.

Paper clip design

So let’s get started!🙂

First, you need your materials.

  • Sewing Kit
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Ribbons (2 ribbons, about 6 inches long, any width will do.)
  • Paperclip
  • Glue stick
  • Glue gun

Now you’re ready! Let’s do the sewing first.  Make sure you don’t prick your fingers!

ImageSew both ends of the ribbon together like this.  It’s better to sew it than sticking it to each other to avoid too much lump.

Now, hold it like this to make a crease on the other end.

This will help you determine the center of your ribbon.

Align the center of the ribbon to its ends – the one that you have sewn.

Then fold the center part in half like this.

Fold it again like this.

Do the same thing on the other side so it would look like this.

Now, you sew it again to retain its shape.

I suggest after piercing the ribbon, just do two loops around it so it won’t bulge in any direction anymore. Image

Then pierce it again with your needle.   Make sure you don’t prick your fingers. Then lock your thread when you’re down sewing.Image

Position the paperclip like this on the middle.

Use the glue gun and glue stick to put it in place with the ribbon you’ve made.

Now, use the other ribbon to wrap it.

Then tie it like this.

Remove the excess ribbon by cutting its edges.

Now you have your finished product!!!

You can use any color of ribbon you like.  Experiment on your design.  Good luck!🙂
